Role:

We are seeking a fast-learner robotics/electric/computer engineering intern with a hands-on attitude, to help with robot testing, software bring to life, acceptance test, and issue finding in the field.

We are looking for someone to start by February 17th.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Bring our robots alive, installing software, firmware in all sensors, calibrating cameras, and testing sub components.
  2. Find issues in new robots, debugging their origin and pin-pointing what component is faulty.
  3. Design and run tests for robots, both for the factory acceptance tests, as well as for pre-deployment tests.
  4. Keep our robots running, by identifying common failures through data analysis and feeding the issues to the development team.
  5. Coordinate the release of the latest software features and deploy them to the robot fleet.

Background:

  1. Pursuing an applied Bsc or Msc in robotics, electrical, electronic, computer engineering or equivalent.
  2. Hands-on experience with robotics, ideally involving software and hardware.
  3. Familiar with common robotics tools like ubuntu, ROS, python, shell, Docker, etc.
  4. Multidisciplinary, not scared to get your hands dirty replacing robot parts or learning new programming languages or tools.
  5. Goal driven and independent, getting robots working properly is top priority and you can figure out how to do it.
  6. Good English skills (Level C1)

Honest comments:

  1. In this position you will learn a lot about robotics, infrastructure, and testing, but it is not a software development role. You will create tools to test and debug, but not core algorithms like navigation or perception.
  2. You will be tasked with creating a lot of the testing infrastructure and automation, this gives freedom, but also means you have to be able to harness the chaos.
  3. If you think you don’t hit all the check marks - don’t worry, we want a person that is able to learn and has a great attitude to make it work. So just give it a go, we will reply to all applications.
